about

The latest Furanum release, 'Remix One', is a remix EP featuring four convincing remakes of tracks by label owner Dominik Muller. Two of the remixes are provided by none other than Tresor's Baeks, more recently known for his acclaimed productions as part of Ancient Methods, with partner in crime Trias. On his first take on 'Ich bin aus Oberschleisen,' he goes for a more subtle and subdued approach than one would expect from AM, allowing haunting atmospheric pads to take the lead throughout. The second mix features more meat on the bones, as it evolves towards a decidedly more intense climax. Next is UK's Casual Violence, who offers his take on 'Lipiny', going for a more linear approach than much of his previous work. The track jumps straight into a pounding wall of sound, complemented throughout by incoherent and gritty yet powerfully menacing soundscapes. Finally, a newcomer to the label and scene, Rafal Furst, goes for a more minimal take on 'Powerplant', while fully keeping in line with the dark industrial ethic of the label.
